Dorothy M. (Alexander) Caulk

Dorothy M. (Alexander) Caulk was born to James and Viola (Rutz) Alexander in Longdale, Oklahoma on May 28, 1926, and died peacefully on January 26, 2022, at the age of 95.

Dorothy grew up on a farm southeast of Canton, Oklahoma, and graduated from Canton Public School in 1945. Dorothy moved to Enid to attend Beauty College and meet the love of her life Max Caulk. They married on July 18, 1948, and made their home on the family farm in Hennessey, OK.

She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dorothy loved the Lord and her church. She loved cooking, sewing, quilting, spending time with her siblings, traveling with her nieces, but most of all her 3 granddaughters. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Mae (Hughes) Alexander, her husband, Max Caulk, 3 brothers – Fred, James, Ray Dean, 4 sisters – Lola Enlow, Ellen Henley, Elnora Gillum, and Darlene Alexander. Dorothy is survived by her two sons – Freddie Max Caulk and wife Debbie, Hennessey, OK and Jay Caulk, Portland, OR, 3 granddaughters – Sara (Greg) Garrett, Kingfisher, OK; Ashley (Andrew) Ewbank, Enid, OK, Jamie (Brad) Moore, Hennessey, OK, and 7 great-grandchildren – Emily, Gretchen, and Natalie Garrett, Baylor and Wade Ewbank, Abby Kate and Mason Moore, sister-in-law Twila Alexander, and many nieces and nephews.

In honoring Dorothy’s request a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Hennessey Cemetery with Reverend Ish Engle officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hennessey First Christian Church Memorial Fund with Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund.
