HENNESSEY FIRE NEW ADDITION

Working with AIP architects, the Hennessey Fire Department has come up with a plan for a new addition to the current station. This plan would eventually add a ladder truck to its vehicles. The addition is estimated to cost around $1 million, which the Fire Department has saved from the designated tax fund.  The ladder truck is estimated to cost around $800,000 which would be purchased down the line.  The new plans include an upgrade to the current facility with the addition mens and womens bathrooms, decom bathroom, and a helipad.  James Matousek, the assistant chief asked the city to provide fencing around the property for privacy and for the land just south of the station for this new addition, at the town board meeting Wednesday, December 8th. The town approved both.

This expansion keeps the town’s Insurance Services Office score low saving Hennessey homeowners fire insurance rates.  Out of a ranking of 1 – 10 Hennessey is currently a three.
