Ethel Louise Ingle Gardner

The funeral for Ethel Louise Ingle Gardner, 76 will be at 1:00 PM Friday November 5, 2021 at Dover Christian Church officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile. Burial will follow at Dover Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Ethel was born at Dover on December 22, 1944 to Virgil Marion and Goldee Faye Burns Ingle and died Saturday October 30, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Kingfisher.

Ethel graduated from Dover High School and attended Oklahoma State University.

She married Bobby W. Gardner September 10, 1970.

As a life-long member of Dover Christian Church, Ethel loved serving the Lord which made her love serving people. Never one to be in the spotlight, she served as Sunday School Secretary for many years, regularly helped with third Sunday dinners, was always willing to bring a dish to funeral dinners and was involved in the mission program. She also enjoyed playing dominoes with the Thursday night senior adult group.

Ethel was a secretary at Dover Public Schools and was honored with thirty years of service to the school. She was also honored by the school as a Longhorn Leader of the year in 2017, and the 1991 Dover School Annual was dedicated to her. Her sense of humor, quick wit and love for others will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons John Boyd Gardner and wife Kelly, Bobby G. Gardner and wife Trena, Byron W. Gardner and wife Andrea; one daughter Julie Loreine Gardner; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; one brother David Ingle and wife Twila.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents Virgil Marion Ingle and Goldee Faye Burns Ingle, husband Bobby W. Gardner, one brother Virgil Thomas Ingle and wife Enrica, one sister Nancy Alice Luman and husband Otho.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to Dover Christian Mission Fund with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
