HHS GOLF TEAM WRAP UP

After missing all of last year due to Covid Hennessey Golf got their swing back. 2021 was the first year for all Hennessey golfers to play competitively. Their most talented newcomer was Gracie Mills who could compete – right or left handed! At the year end golf get together top golfers, Christian Tovar and Kaylee Gilliland, received their due recognition. Tovar qualified for regionals with an 86 at Kingfisher Golf Course. He would then qualify for the 2A State Tournament at hosting course Turkey Creek GC with rounds of 83 and 77 on the same day. The 2A State Tournament for three rounds of golf was hosted in OKC at Early Wine GC. He would finish with an 83 on his final round. His combined three rounds totaled 260. He finished tied for 41 among 74 competing 2A Boys. Kaylee Gilliland qualified for regionals at Kingfisher Golf Course with a score of 101 to compete at the regionals at Turkey Creek GC. Coach Patrick Courtney sees an increase number of golfers including some promising returning golfers for 2022 including boys Eduardo Dominguez and Caleb Ashlock and girls Kadee Meeker and Avery Vendetti.
