LZ TRAINING FOR FIREFIGHTERS

Members of the Hennessey Volunteer Fire Department, LIFE EMS, and Hennessey Police were treated to the “Famous” Fire Dept. ribeye sandwiches last night for helicopter training.  Air Evac LifeTeam EMS helicopter service flew in and landed their Kingfisher based aircraft at the Hennessey Fire Station.  This was to offer “LZ” Landing Zone training to show how to safely land a helicopter during a medical emergency.  After the class they got a close look at the high tech flying emergency room and the crew answered questions.  Hennessey Fire crews have called upon helicopter medial services 3 separate times this year for critically injured patents.  The first was in March for a motorcycle accident victim, the second was in May for a pickup crash north of Hennessey,  and the third was for a multi vehicle head on collision east of town last September where 2 helicopters were called in.
