MEDICAL MARIJUANA CLEARED FOR TAKE OFF IN HENNESSEY

It has been over a year since Oklahoma passed SQ 799 legalizing medical marijuana and it is still in flux.  The Hennessey Board of Trustees have worked to create a business friendly ordinance that equally protects the citizens.   After several rounds of changes to the new ordinance, number 380 that regulates selling, growing, processing, warehousing and storing medical Marijuana in Hennessey, is signed and completed.  The town is held to a set of laws from the state that dictates what the town’s ordinance can and cannot do.  The most recent change was to allow growing facilities to operate in any agricultural and industrial zoning districts that are no closer than 300 feet from any existing residence.
