The Hennessey School Board voted this afternoon to hire Adam Ray as The Pride of Hennessey Band Director. For the past several weeks, the Hennessey band has been led by parents and volunteers that stepped up and led the band to an Excellent Rating this morning (Tuesday) during the Regional Marching contest at Skiatook.
Adam has been involved in music since childhood. Piano lessons proved he had quite the ear. Adam has used that ear to produce and play music all across the country. He tours with Matt Stansberry & The Romance, Vonna Pearl and Atom Ray Funktet and has recorded on hundreds of records on various instruments.
Adam says, “he plays, “saxophone well” but he plays guitars/keys and many other instruments professionally and teaches music lessons on many instruments including saxophone, clarinet, flute, piano, guitar, bass, ukulele and drums.”
Adam is also very involved in all types of media production from the knobs and wires of audio/video/lighting systems, through the lens photography, videography and film production, to the ins and outs of digital marketing strategy. Hennessey Superintendent Dr. Mike Woods said, “Adam brings a different angle to the band that will widen the program.”
